Bradley Laird's Grass Talk Radio Podcast Support the show with Patreon The podcast for people who play bluegrass music or want to! Episode 163 - The Dobro Pioneers Bill Monroe said that a Dobro sounds like an old tin bucket! I think he was just sore because Lester and Earl left him, dropped the mandolin and added Josh Graves. (In later years, Bill and Josh were good friends and I think the tin bucket comment was dropped.) Dobro is a big part of bluegrass music and in this episode we listen to samples of some of the pioneers who brought "that old hub cap guitar" into the bluegrass world, including Josh Graves, Mike Auldridge, Tut Taylor, Jerry Douglas and a few more. Thank you to my Patreon supporters. I have said it many times but it bears repeating: YOU are a huge part of making this happen. I do appreciate it! I sincerely do.
