Dear Old Dixie

This song is a favorite among the banjo picking species.

free chord progression dear old dixie cheat sheet

*I don't think I have ever heard this song in any key other than G. Be aware that the band usually stops on that first D chord while the banjo picker shows off for 4 beats. Then it's right back to beating out that boom-chick. Be ready for playing this pretty fast as it is a point of pride among banjo players to demonstrate how insanely fast they can pick this tune without having their fingerpicks fly off into the audience to be stepped on by a waitress.
