Red Haired Boy

This is one of those ancient fiddle tunes that came across the big pond. Most people call it "Red Haired Boy" but I've also heard it called "Soldier With A Wooden Leg".

*The key of A the standard key in which everyone plays this tune. Guitar and banjo players usually prefer to play it "in G positions" with their capos on the 2nd fret putting them in the key of A. I used to teach it to my mandolin students in the key of E, once they learned it in A, just to get them to stretch out and try some new keys. I called that version Green Haired Boy just to keep track of it.
