Sally Gooden

Gooden is sometimes spelled Goodin or Goodwin. This is THE long, extended jam session tune, especially by fiddlers of the Texas persuasion. Go ahead, spell check that. I had to too.

*The key of A the standard key in which everyone plays this tune. Guitar and banjo players usually prefer to play it "in G positions" with their capos on the 2nd fret putting them in the key of A. Hang around the jam sessions long enough and you'll find out that this one gets played for a looooong time. Have fun and stretch out.

By the way, there is a secret "warning signal break" which goes to F#m (Em for you G people) which is played to signal that the ending is almost there. You'll figure that out on your own after you go to a few jams. If the chords suddenly sound like they went to a minor key, that's the warning. Shave and a haircut coming soon... before your arm falls off and your fingers start bleeding. Seriously, I have heard 15 minute versions of this.
