FREE BLUEGRASS GUITAR TAB - FORKED DEER
Here is a good, basic flatpicking solo for the tune Forked Deer. This is a good tune to begin to learn your way around in the key of C.

In the B part you will notice some slides. I play that "3-5" slide with my ring finger. The "2-5" can be done with the index since you have plenty of time after it to get back in "first position".

Note: Notice that the endings are the same for the A and the B part. Also, I have indicated "Capo 2" because most mandolin and fiddle players play this tune in the key of D. You can learn it in C, but get a capo and learn how to use it. To play bluegrass guitar you WILL need one. Here is some free information on using a capo which I prepared.
